Percent Change In Sales reports display the percentage of change in sales between a selected period and the same period one year prior.
Reports are available in summary and detailed formats for both parent and child profit centers.
Note: If you have a sales category with sales for a previous year and no sales for the current year, then the report does not list the category.
When you select Percent Change In Sales reports, the system displays the following report criteria screen:

The following selection criteria allow you to specify the periods used to calculate the percent of change and to determine the way the report is viewed.
Enter the starting date for the period you wish to calculate the percent of change from the previous year. You must make an entry in this field and it must be in mm/dd/yy format. For example:
01/10/99
Enter the ending date for the period you wish to calculate the percent of change from the previous year. You must make an entry in this field and it must be in mm/dd/yy format. For example:
01/10/99
Note: If no dates are entered, the system defaults to the current system date and reports information based on the current period. If the entered Ending Date is not greater than the Beginning Date, or if the Beginning and Ending dates are not within the same GL period, the system will display an error.
You may specify how you want to view and/or print the report by choosing from the following selections:
· View Report Directly
· Condense Print
· Print Directly to LPN
· Display/Print Selection Page

Note: Table MR_SALES is used to retrieve sales data.
The following column is reported on Percent Change In Sales Summary reports.
Percent Change
The Percent of Change column value is calculated by using the following formula:
(X – Y) / Y
X = the sum of current year sales records for the specified category. Note: Sales values are retrieved by the system and are not displayed on Percent Change In Sales reports.
Y = the sum of the prior year’s sales records for the specified category. Note: Sales values are retrieved by the system and are not displayed on Percent Change In Sales reports.
Values are rounded to two places after the decimal.
The following sections are listed on the report:
Profit Center
The report displays the name and number of the profit center represented by the corresponding report data.
If a profit center has a child profit center, it appears as a hyperlink. Clicking on the hyperlink allows you to view Percent Change In Sales reports for child profit centers.
Merchandise Category
The Merchandise Category rows describe the merchandise sales being reported for the corresponding period at the profit center.
The Percent Change In Sales Detail report gives you more detailed information for the data reported on the Percent Change In Sales Summary report.

The report columns are as follows:
This Year Sales
The This Year Sales column displays sales values for the current year. Values are rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
Last Year Sales
The Last Year Sales column displays sales values for the prior year. Values are rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
Dollars Increase/Decrease
The Dollars Increased/Decreased column is calculated by using the following formula:
X – Y
X = the This Year Sales column value.
Y = the corresponding Last Year Sales value.
Values are rounded to the nearest whole dollar. If there are no Y values for the calculations, the report prints N/A.
Percent of Change
The Percent of Change column is calculated by using the following formula:
((X – Y) / Y) * 100
X = the This Year Sales column value.
Y = the corresponding Last Year Sales column value.
Values are rounded to two (2) places after the decimal. If there are no Y values for the calculations, the report prints N/A.
The following sections are listed on the report:
Profit Center
The report displays the name and number of the profit center represented by the corresponding report data.
If a profit center has a child profit center, it appears as a hyperlink. Clicking on the hyperlink allows you to view summary information for child profit centers.
Merchandise Category
The Merchandise categories describe the merchandise sales reported at the profit center for the specified year.
If a profit center has child profit centers, you may click on the parent profit center’s hyperlink to view summary report information for its child profit centers.
The Percent Change In Sales Child Summary report is based on the same selection criteria you entered for the parent profit center.

Child Summary information is reported in the same manner as for parent profit centers. See the Percent Change In Sales Summary report information section for more information.

Click on the child profit center’s hyperlink to view a Percent Change In Sales Child Detail report. Detail information for child profit centers is calculated in the same manner as it is for parent profit centers. See the Percent Change In Sales Detail report section for more information.
