Daily Sales Comparison reports allow users to compare inside sales data for a particular day with data from the same day one week earlier. Reports include percent of total sales for each category, month-to-date sales, and a straight-line projection of the sales through the end of the month at each profit center.
Reports are available in summary format for both parent and child profit centers.
Note: Since the report shows reported lottery sales and not what was rung at the register, the reported sales may not agree with the your general ledger.
When you select Daily Sales Comparison reports, the system displays the following report criteria screen:

The following selection criteria allow you to specify the date you want to compare on the report and the way the report is viewed.
Enter the date you wish to compare. You must make an entry in this field and it must be in mm/dd/yy format. For example:
01/10/99
You may specify how you want to view and/or print the report by choosing from the following selections:
· View Report Directly
· Condense Print
· Print Directly to LPN
· Display/Print Selection Page

Note: Tables MR_SALES and GL_JRNL_RS are used to retrieve sales data. Tables MOSALES and LOTTMISC are used to retrieve sales data for StoreTrak users only.
The report columns are as follows:
Sales Date
The first Sales Date column displays the date value entered on the report criteria screen. The second Sales Date column displays the date for the same weekday one week earlier.
Percent Of Sales Columns
The Percent of Sales columns display the percent of total sales for each corresponding row on the specified date. The Percent of Sales columns are calculated by using the following formula:
(X / Y) * 100
X = the value from the first (or second) Sales Date column.
Y = the corresponding (first or second) Sales Date Total Dollars value.
Values are rounded to two (2) places after the decimal.
+/- Percent Columns
The +/- Percent columns display the difference between the first and second Sales Date values. The +/- Percent columns are calculated by using the following formula:
((X – Y) / Y) * 100
X = the value from the first Sales Date column.
Y = the value from the second Sales Date column.
Values are rounded to two (2) places after the decimal.
Month-To-Date Sales Columns
The Month-to-Date (MTD) column displays the current total MTD sales information for each merchandise sales category. Values are rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
Projected Monthly Sales Columns
The Projected Monthly Sales column is calculated by using the following formula:
(X / Y) * Z
X = the value from the MTD Sales column.
Y = the number of days from the beginning of the month to the date selected as report criteria.
Z = the number of days in the period.
The following sections are listed on the report:
Profit Center
The report displays the name and number of the profit center represented by the corresponding report data.
If a primary profit center has a child profit center, it appears as a hyperlink. Clicking on the hyperlink allows you to view information for child profit centers.
Merchandise Category
The Merchandise Category section displays total merchandise sales values for the specified date. Underneath this heading, a listing for each individual category pertaining to merchandise sales is displayed. Values are rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
Lottery Sales
Lottery Sales values are only available to StoreTrak users. This category reports the Lottery sales for the specified date. If there are no values to report, the Lottery Sales row will not print on the report.
Money Order Sales
Money Order Sales values are only available to StoreTrak users. This category reports the money order sales for the specified date. If there are no values to report, the Money Order Sales row will not print on the report.
Miscellaneous Revenue
The Misc. Revenue category reports the Misc. Revenue for the specified date. If there are no miscellaneous revenue values to report, the row will not print on the report.
The following formula is used to calculate the Sales Date and MTD: Misc. Revenue column values:
(Y – X)
X = the sum of debit values retrieved from the GL_JRNL_RS table for the day (or the month for MTD). Note: Debit values are retrieved and calculated by the system. They are not displayed on Daily Sales Comparison reports.
Y = the sum of credit values retrieved from the GL_JRNL_RS table for the day (or the month for MTD). Note: Credit values are retrieved and calculated by the system. They are not displayed on Daily Sales Comparison reports.
Values are rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
Total Dollars
The Total Dollars values represent the total sales values for the corresponding columns. Unless otherwise noted, Total Dollars values are figured by summing all values in the corresponding column.
Note: The % of Sales Total columns will total 100.00.
The +/- Percent Total column is calculated by using the following formula:
((X – Y) / Y) *100
X = the value from the first Sales Date Total Dollars column.
Y = the value from the second Sales Date Total Dollars column.
Values are rounded to two (2) places after the decimal point.
If a profit center has a child profit center, click on the parent profit center’s hyperlink to view child Daily Sales Comparison reports.
Values on the detail report are rounded to the nearest whole number, or they are rounded to a specified place after the decimal. Because each value is rounded, Total values may differ from the Summary report. The Summary report should be considered more accurate.

The Projected Monthly Sales column is calculated by using the following formula:
(X / Y) * Z
X = the value from the MTD Sales column.
Y = the number of days from the beginning of the month to the date selected as report criteria.
Z = the number of days in the period.

The following formula is used to calculate the Sales Date and MTD: Misc. Revenue column values:
